Getting Rid of Anger—Part 5

"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16 NKJV)."

I had another rude person I was struggling to forgive. I did all the usual things, but was still struggling to completely break free. The issue would keep coming back up.

One night, right before bedtime, Satan again brought the issue up. This was particularly concerning since I had to get some sleep so I could work the next day. I was not able to stop thinking about it, indicating that there was still a significant spiritual foothold.

The subject of fervent prayer came to mind. I had, earlier in the day, heard a sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley on the subject.

So I prayed, fervently, that God would enable me to forgive and break free.

It didn't take long for God to answer my prayer. I soon recognized that something supernatural had occurred and that I was now free.

Fervent prayer is something no Christian should overlook when struggling with unforgiveness, or, actually, any issue.
