Love Yourself

"Love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31 NIV)."

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses (Proverbs 10:12 ESV)."

For those of us who grew up with a critical authority figure, it comes naturally to internalize this same attitude toward ourselves; that is, to become self-critical. And it only takes one mistake for this self-critical attitude to surface. Whenever this happens, you will feel emotional distress. Here's one way to get rid of it: Love yourself.

You have the power to do this. It's something you can do.

We all make mistakes. So remember to try this the next time you do make a mistake. You will be surprised how well it works.
