The Solution for Any Problem

Trials are a fact of life. There will be times, during your life, when you will face difficulties which are beyond your ability to cope. You were designed that way: Christians should not expect to be able to handle all their problems without God.

Let's review what the Bible says about God and about man.

First God. The Bible says that God loves us. He is always present for us individually and does answer prayers. He is all powerful; nothing is impossible for God. And He is far more intelligent than any man.

Now man: "Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture (Psalm 100:3 NKJV)." Sheep are not intelligent animals.

It is foolish for Christians to try to handle life's problems without God.

There are four steps for dealing with any problem. Here they are.

  • Bring it to God.
  • Give up control.
  • Trust God.
  • Wait on God.

Let's review each step.

Bring it to God: Bring every problem to God in prayer. The sooner the better. Even after you've made a mess, you still can and should bring the issue to God. Continue to pray about the issue every day as long as necessary.

Give up control: Be willing to do whatever God wants you to do. God's will will always be consistent with His Word, the Bible. Don't do anything that doesn't make sense unless you are 100% sure it is from God. Christian counsel can help you avoid mistakes in this regard.

Trust God: "Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us (Psalm 62:8 NKJV)." Trusting God will always help with your emotions. Your goal here is to maintain your faith in God, not panic and walk wisely: "He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered (Proverbs 28:26 NASB)."

Wait on God: Wait until it becomes clear what to do. Don't do anything rash, regardless of how much emotional strain you are experiencing. God's answer to your prayers will come in time. It will come in the midst of relative peace, not panic. There may be intermediate steps such as seeking the counsel of others or getting more information.

So memorize these four steps for dealing with any problem.

  • Bring it to God.
  • Give up control.
  • Trust God.
  • Wait on God.
