"The entrance of thy words giveth light (Psalm 119:130)."

What's Most Important

"For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself (Galatians 5:14 NIV)."

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses (Proverbs 10:12 ESV)."

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails (1Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV)."

"'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD (Leviticus 19:18 NIV)."

" . . . love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you . . . (Matthew 5:44 NIV)."

You are required to maintain this simple mindset, that you always choose to love your neighbor.

If you do, when troubling thoughts come up, you can reaffirm your attitude of love for your neighbor, pray for them and then think about something else.

If you don't, you will struggle to forgive—or worse. And you will have no peace.

Remember, especially, the first two Scriptures mentioned in this article:

"For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself (Galatians 5:14 NIV)."

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses (Proverbs 10:12 ESV)."
