Pray & Resist

"Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray." {James 5:13 NIV}

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world." {1 Peter 5:8-9 NKJV}

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." {James 4:7 NIV}

When you come under spiritual attacks, there are three adviseable options:

1) You can pray.

Praying with another Christian makes your prayer much more effective.

2) You can, more generally, resist the devil.

Examples: reciting Scripture, applying Scripture, adjusting your self-talk, thinking about something else.

3) You can do both.

Doing both is the most effective.

Remember to pray and resist. Or to resist and pray.
