Stopping Spiritual Attacks—Part NinePart Nine is about prayer. Two suggestions here. First: Sometimes prayer, combined with resolute faith, is necessary to break free of of a spiritual foothold. Scriptures to review: “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you." {Mark 11:22-24 NASB} "This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him." {1 John 5:14-15 NASB} “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord." {James 1:6-7 NIV} Template:
You may need to exercise strong faith to break free—especially when circumstances and emotions seem very much out of control. "For we live by faith, not by sight." {2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV} Second: "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." {Matthew 18:19-20 NASB} Prayer is much more effective if another Christian is involved. Sometimes, individual prayer is insufficient. Two suggestions:
