Bob's Story
(Homosexuality)
The following was excerpted from Freedom through Forgiveness by Nathan Daniel.
Bob was a handsome young man whom I met while teaching a Bible study in the downtown area. I invited him to dinner with my family and to my church. He came a few times and then disappeared. The last time I saw him he told me, "When I was seven years old, I watched my mother beat my six-year-old brother to death with a baseball bat. I have a fear of women you cannot believe." He said he had been in secular therapy for twenty years.
Two years later, his picture appeared in the local paper as the new editor of a gay newspaper. A year or so later, there was an article telling about a gay doctor who had done research on gay men who had died, and the research showed that their brains were different from those of straight men. In the article, Bob was quoted as saying he had known since he was seven years old that he was gay. He did not mention the trauma he had experienced as a result of being a witness to the horrible abuse his mother had inflicted on his brother.
